Resolving to Make the Best of Marriage in ‘08

Happy New Year’s Eve! Last year when I was first hired on by Families.com I was only blogging over in Pets. At the end of December I set some New Year’s Resolutions to accomplish in 2007 in regards to the Pets Blog, which I recently took stock of. I thought it’d be a good idea to do the same here. (At least as far as making resolutions, that is. I didn’t make any last year in Marriage to take stock of now.) Resolution #1: Accentuating the Positive I’m a firm believer that a positive attitude is essential for a good … Continue reading

The Best of the February Marriage Blog – Letters of Love

Typically I write about my Best of Moments at the end of the month, but I was a little tied up at the end of February this month. But I wanted to take a few moments here, while we are still at the beginning of March to talk about what I think was our best of February Marriage Blogs. The Letters of Love series was very near and dear to my heart. When I initially conceived the idea, I thought I would get a small handful of letters to publish from one reader to someone in their life they loved. … Continue reading

The Best Marriage Article of December

The best marriage article of December focused on a series that Sherry and I wrote detailing the traditions couples develop surround the holiday. In Why You and Your Spouse Should Create Your Own Traditions we talked about the holidays and what traditions my husband and I used to celebrate our first few Christmases before we had our daughter. Later, our traditions changed, but that is a natural event as families grow and develop. The birth of children will have a great deal of influence on the traditions you and your spouse celebrate and honor. For families with older children, don’t … Continue reading

Mortgage Over Relationship

In an article I saw the average size of mortgages in Australia had hot an all time high. The average loan was for $367,000. My mind can’t even comprehend a loan that size or how you’d repay it. That’s more than our whole house cost! In December last year it was reported Australia had overtaken USA as the country building the largest houses. The trend is towards a family room, home theatres, parent’s retreats etc. The average size of the Aussie home according to experts is now 215 square meters which translates to around 23 square feet. But that’s the … Continue reading
