Seven Days of Valentinesby Sherry Holetzky | More from this Blogger 01 Feb 2007 10:15 AM Instead of celebrating just once for Valentine's Day, why not build up to it for a week? Start on the seventh (or have cards or other small gifts begin arriving on that date) and present something each day until the fourteenth. Small gestures are best, because they will surprise and delight the person you love without making that person feel obligated to return the favor. You don't want him or her to feel bad, thinking that he or she should have had something each day for you too, so keep it sweet and simple. One cute idea is to pick up a box of Valentines like the ones kids pass out a school. Slip a different one into your spouse's pocket or purse each day. Tape a piece of candy or gum to each one to include a little treat. Another idea is to purchase cards for each day leading up to Valentine's Day. Mail them at the local post office so they'll be timely, or simply pop one in the mailbox or tuck one in his or her bag each day. E-cards are another great idea. Send one each day.
Sweet or sexy notes are also fun. Begin writing a note the first day and write, "to be continued" at the end of each one, continuing your message each consecutive day and ending with a special note or card on Valentine's Day. You can use plain paper or pick up some nice note cards with matching envelopes. Ladies, try adding a little perfume to your notes. Have fun with it!
