Cheap Summer Movies

When we moved to Texas there was a movie theater we went to more than others. It had a mommy and me program that I couldn’t wait to take part in. The theater changed owners and the mommy and me program stopped before we got our first foster placement. I was disappointed. What better way to go to a movie with children than at a theater filled with other moms with their children. Every summer the area foster parents go see a sponsored movie. The first year we went we saw Ice Age 3: Attack of the Dinosaurs. The movie … Continue reading

But let’s get to our marriage blog week in review: Saturday, June 23 Relationship Problems are something we all experience at one time or another. Are you considering Writing Your Own Vows? Father’s Day, Date Nights & Other Fun Events

What a great weekend we had here at home. My apologies for not writing a focused on Father’s Day article today as I intended. But starting late yesterday, my husband and I both shut down our computers and headed off to spend the next 24 hours focused on the family as a part of Father’s Day. Sometimes you need to make a conscious decision to shut off the responsibilities and the rest of the world and just be together as a family. Sleepovers

Weekends always remind me of when Hailey was younger and it seemed like every weekend there was a sleepover. I preferred that she have friends over to spend the night instead of Hailey spending the night away. Since getting divorced and having to share my weekends with my ex husband I wanted Hailey at home on my weekend. So she invited friends over and we had the best of both worlds, she got to spend time with her friends and I got to spend time with my girl. This was usually fun. It takes very little to entertain ten year … Continue reading

Prepared for Summer Adventures

It was a beautiful day yesterday, just right for some sort of outdoor adventure with the kids. We decided to head over to the park for a spontaneous playdate. But how many times do we just run out the door without something that we know we’ll need later, such as a change of clothes, or sunscreen or a snack? Kids come with requirements for stuff, no matter if you are taking a trip down the shore or just to the local park. Most of the time, we do realize that we need to take some supplies, but choose not to, … Continue reading

The cute little blue guys with the high voices are headed to the big screen.
