Romance on Sunday - A Few Romantic Suggestions

by Heather Long | More from this Blogger

Are you tired of having to plan all of the date nights? Do you feel like you have to constantly send email reminders to your spouse about important dates like anniversaries and birthdays? Are you always planning the date nights? Do you really wish that your spouse would come up with a surprise for you on their own? Here are a few romantic suggestions that you can provide for your spouse.

Rolodex of Love

You remember a rolodex right? Before the days of the electronic emails and address books or cell phone storage, most of us kept a rolodex on our desk. The old style rolodex was comprised of multiple cards with dividers either based on date or alphabet. Typically, phone numbers and addresses were stored there for easy flip access - so make one up for your spouse. Instead of just the typical information, keep a number of pieces of data on there from favored restaurants to day spas to florists to theaters for the ballet and more. The Rolodex of Love can give your spouse their own at their fingertips source for quick romantic ideas to spring on you.

Hallmark Help

Hallmark cards may be mushy, but send your loved one off to the local Hallmark and to read the cards. There are tons of ideas to be had there whether it's just a great card that you can give to a spouse as a surprise or a thought that spawns another. You can find some of the neatest ideas from the strangest places and Hallmark makes a living off of thoughts for loved ones - so send your loved one in to find some ideas of their own.

Monthly Plant or Flower Orders

Many services offer monthly orders of flowers or houseplants to be delivered to your door. Different plants or blooms for each month of the year. The great thing about programs like these is they are more than just flowers brought home that will wither in a few days. For example, I know one husband who brought home rose bushes to his wife for various holidays throughout the year. Rose bushes that she could plant and enjoy throughout their blooming season. I've also seen seeds being given as a gift. Seeds make good gifts because they are a promise of potential and caring.

What other romantic gifts can you think of too?
