Protecting Your Husband's Heart and Moreby Dale Harcombe | More from this Blogger 18 Mar 2009 07:19 PM
Statistics have shown that carrying too much weight around can be bad for the heart and can also lead to other problems such as diabetes. Do you make sure your husband eats a healthy diet with plenty of vegetables, and fruit? Now I'm not suggesting you go vegetarian, as many men are fond of their red meat, but do try and cut back on it. Substitute fish, chicken or some all veggie meals. Choose heart healthy foods. It may also mean taking the time to pack a lunch to take to work instead of him buying it each day. Apart from the very occasional birthday celebration with workmates, in all the years Mick was working, I packed Mick's lunch. As well as the health benefits, it also saves a great deal of money- surely an important aspect in these hard economic times. If he needs to lose weight, go on a diet with him. Of course we all know exercise is good for the body and health but how many of us exercise with our husband? Don't just encourage your husband to exercise, do it with him if at all possible. Mick and I walk most days and we play tennis together, so it's keeping fit as well as spending time together. Of course the best exercise of all is making love. It is not only fun and a way of burning off calories, but experts have found it has the added advantage of relieving stress. What a good excuse! Join me for more tips tomorrow.
