Love Notes: Do Something Different

Try this: do something different to surprise your spouse. It doesn't have to be anything crazy, just something to change things up a little every once in a while.

Make Breakfast or Lunch a Treat

Get up in the morning with your spouse sometime, even if you do not have to be up that early. Make coffee or tea and have it waiting when he or she wakes up. Make breakfast or pick up some muffins and fruit and spend a little early morning time together before your spouse has to take off for the day.

Show up and surprise your spouse at the office with a homemade meal for lunch in exchange for the sandwich he packed that morning. If you can't make it in person, order something special and have it delivered at lunchtime.

Dress Up More Often

If you have grown rather accustomed to wearing casual clothing around the house, swap those jeans or sweats for something a little dressier sometimes. Ladies, lose the ponytail and let your pretty hair down. Wear your spouse's favorite perfume or cologne just for the heck of it sometime, instead of only on special occasions.

Make Sure Your Mate Gets the Message

Send your spouse an e-mail or a text message, even if he or she is only in the next room. Send something silly, to make your spouse laugh out loud or send a rather sexy message (be careful when sending messages to your mate's place of business, as privacy may be a concern). Another way to send a message is with a look, a wink, or blowing a kiss.

*Life is just too short for every day to be a strict routine. Even small differences can keep things more fun, so always try to find little ways to keep things interesting.
