Is Cybersex Cheating?

My first encounter with cybersex is still something I find myself laughing about. For many people, being online takes away the fear and apprehension that people feel when speaking to someone face to face. They can be cooler or hotter, better looking or nicer. I’m not a huge fan of it and the naughty provocative bit wore off after realizing there are only so many euphemisms that one can use for the words male and female private parts. Even typing those terms here seems almost too clinical a way to refer to the act of verbally seducing another person through … Continue reading

Affairs and STDs

You often hear people talk about the psychological issues they suffer after finding out a spouse has had an affair (namely lack of trust), and there’s the other kind of fallout that manifests (counseling and divorce), but what about the health issues? How many affairs result in the contraction of an STD? Perhaps it’s a weird thing to wonder about. (Then again, I’m prone to that. “How Do Monkeys Keep Their Nails Clipped?” is proof.) But there you have it, I’m wondering about it. I blame Wayne. Not because he cheated and gave me an STD, but because of his … Continue reading

Internet Infidelity Leads to Attempted Hit

This morning while I was once again watching Today (yes, I’ve noticed I start off with this line a lot), they ran a story about a woman who used Craigslist to try and hire someone to kill her lover’s wife. Apparently 49-year-old Ann Marie Linscott is married and lives in the Grand Rapids, Michigan, area. She met her lover, who lives in Oroville, California, while taking a course over the Internet. They engaged in a cyber affair, but when she tired of being the other woman she got the bright idea to use Craigslist to change all that. That’s pretty … Continue reading

Privacy in the Modern Marriage – Time & Technology Make Us Vulnerable

Privacy is a privilege that many of us cling to in a time when emails can be transmitted from one computer to another in nanoseconds. Privacy in the modern marriage is based more on trust than ever before. You can pick up your spouse’s cell phone and in short order have access to their email, their text messages and even the stored list of phone numbers. Privacy in the age of the Internet is a complicated issue. For even the most sensitive of data, you just require a few key numbers to enter and most married couples know their spouse’s … Continue reading

Kylie Minogue Separates from Olivier Martinez

Kylie Minogue has split from her actor boyfriend Olivier Martinez. The two have been together four years, which is almost like twenty-five by Hollywood standards. The couple released a statement saying the split was mutual, amicable, and the two remain close friends. If you are not familiar with Olivier Martinez’s work, he was in Before Night Falls and S.W.A.T., but I always remember him as the handsome roguish boyfriend in Unfaithful. Kyle has gone through quite a bit lately. She began her career in the 1980s when she was on an Australian soap opera called “Neighbours.” After that, she became … Continue reading

The Things You Thought You Knew – Online Relationships

Have you ever seen the movie How to Lose A Guy in 10 Days? If you haven’t, I recommend checking it out. First of all, it’s funny and secondly, there’s a message hidden away in there for those that pay attention. Online dating is a lot like this movie. Boy and girl meet in a bar and pick each other up. They both possess their own agendas and what they see in each other is the perfect opportunity to explore the possibilities. After a fun evening together, they retire back to his place for a little while. They tease each … Continue reading
