With the raid on the polygamist compound in Texas headline news lately, I’ve been thinking about polygamy probably more than I ever have before in my life. The Husbands Watching the news, I’d be led to believe that the husbands in polygamist unions are all abusive, dirty old men who use religion as justification for having sex with young girls. How Did Your Senators Vote on the Marriage Amendment?

Whether you agree or disagree with a Constitutional Amendment to ban gay marriage is not really the question for this discussion. The main question is do you know how your senators voted? Next, is the question did they vote in a way that represented the will of the people in your state? Both of my senators, Mark Pryor and Blanche Lambert Lincoln cast “nay” votes according to the most recent Senate roll call vote. If something happened to you (God forbid), would you want your spouse to remarry? This issue has been the subject of many jokes and even some rather lengthy discussions for married couples. There are people who absolutely cannot stand the thought of their spouse being married to someone else, even after they’re gone. The Curious Case of Sister-Wives

The other night I stayed up late watching TV because I couldn’t sleep. I ended up tuning into a show called “The Secret Lives of Women.” Apparently the show’s a series and features insight into different aspects of women’s lives. My last couple of articles have focused on various marriage types. The first discussed couples who chose to make an even stronger bond by committing through a covenant marriage. The second article took a peek into couples who were previously married and were taking part in their second marriage. Marriage Debates: Wyoming Tackles Two Tough Issues

This week, Wyoming’s lawmakers will address two of the toughest issues in politics today, or at least two that tend to generate a great deal of emotion and controversy. State Representative Bob Brechtel (R), and Senator Gerald Geis (R) are in for some heated debate and confrontations. The House Judiciary Committee has endorsed Representative Brechtel’s bill. The Senate Judiciary Committee has endorsed Senator Geis’s bill. I have heard people say that homosexual marriage is not hurting anyone, and that those who are gay deserve to be happy having the same rights as heterosexual couples have.
