The person who is very casual about his or her own relationship often gives off the sense of not being very involved in your own relationship. It could indicate to your partner that you don't care enough to really invest yourself in that relationship. You can be casual when something happens in another place or to other people, but you can't be casual about it in your own backyard. You have to respond to your own life and your own relationship with alacrity. If your spouse comes to you and says that they feel there is a problem, that they feel ignored, that they feel left out or that they are just feeling neglected - you can't dismiss that. How Do You Treat Your Partner? Your spouse is more than just a husband or a wife, they are your partner and your friend - they deserve to be heard and they need for you to take the utmost care with their feelings and their heart and their love. Don't be abrupt when you speak to your partner. Don't be careless. Don't lock yourself into a perpetual cycle of repetitively bad choices where your spouse is concerned. When you and your spouse were dating and courting each other, chances are you were both very alert and very aware of the other. You were willing to put away your casual attitudes to care for them and to show them how you cared. That feeling, that commitment and that level of involvement you put into courting your spouse should not evaporate or become casual once more. You can be casual with your friends. You can be casual with your acquaintances. You cannot be casual with your spouse, your lover and your partner. How casual are you?
