Travel Tidbits: Disney Delivers

The other day I wrote about the incredible service some lodgings around the world offer their guests. Recently, a hotel staffer in Washington, D.C. went above and beyond the call of duty to help a beleaguered guest retrieve his lost laptop from a city cab. And if you thought that story was incredible then you will truly appreciate what employees at a Disney resort recently did for guests there. Two weeks ago a couple from Massachusetts checked into Disney’s Wilderness Lodge resort in Florida. They and their two children had a magical time during their stay and were sad to … Continue reading

This past week Heather joined Karri and I in the Marriage Blog again, making for a variety of topics. If you missed any, why not use this as an opportunity to catch up with what we wrote on: Monday, October 1 Karri kicked off the week and the start of the new month by getting excited about an event that takes place on the last day of the month: Halloween! She offered some great ideas for Halloween costumes for couples. Heather wondered should a prenup be compulsory these days? I offered some ideas for how to learn more about your … Continue reading

Happy Anniversary – Disney Magic

Wow, I woke up this morning at 4:15 a.m. with a half-formed yelp and a huge sigh of relief. I was dreaming that it was my wedding day again and the woman who did my hair and make-up was there to torture me. I loved getting married and I loved getting married at Disney World, but I started getting ready for the wedding at 4:30 in the morning because they were doing all my bridal pictures at 6 a.m. in the empty Magic Kingdom. Happy Anniversary Today marks 8 years since we tied the knot in Disney World and we’ve … Continue reading

The Disney Blog Week in Review July 2 – July 6

This was a busy week for many of us in the United States with the 4th of July landing squarely in the middle of the week. It was busy at Disney World and other Disney parks as they celebrated the 4th of July in a very Mickey fashion. It’s also a week where we saw the announcement of the vault opening to release the Jungle Book once more. So let’s take a look at our week in review. Monday, July 2 Disney & The Fractured Fairytale took a look at the upcoming Disney release: Enchanted. Enchanted will combine live action … Continue reading

The Magic of the Magic Kingdom ….it’s not just for kids!

I’ll admit to anyone who wants to know – I’m a 100% Disney fan, and don’t think there’s a better place to have a vacation than in one of the Disney World parks. One of my dreams is to take my two boys to the Magic Kingdom before they get to that awkward age when they’re too old to see the magic and too young to appreciate the idea, but at the moment health issues have me banned from long-haul travel. As each birthday passes I wonder if we’re going to make it, or whether they’ll be rolling their eyes … Continue reading

Happy Anniversary to Me!

7 years ago today, my husband and I got married in Orlando, Florida. I was at the Magic Kingdom getting my bridal photographs taken in front of Cinderella’s Castle, on her Carousel and in front of Tomorrowland. A few hours later, I was standing outside the Boardwalk resort enjoying the morning sunshine while my bridesmaids were getting their hair and make up done. We had our pictures taken together in the lobby of this beautiful hotel. My bridesmaids, maid of honor and my mother all then left in a limousine to drive over to the Yacht Club and get ready … Continue reading

Wow — Is it 2008 already?

January 1, 2008. January 1, 2008. January 1, 2008. Can it really be 2008 already? Seriously? Yep. Here we are. It is 2008, in Hollywood, the writer’s strike continues at full swing and my daily viewing for my workouts is severely hampered. Closer to home, my little girl turned 7 and my husband and I celebrated 8 years of marriage and we’re looking 12 years together total. 2007 was the Year of a Million Dreams at Disney. It was the year of overexposure for Paris and Britney. 2007 started out with my husband recovering from an emergency appendectomy and I … Continue reading

The Barnstormer at Goofy’s Wiseacres

If you head over to Toontown in the Magic Kingdom you will discover a small, but charming roller coaster designed for young children. The roller coaster itself is hardly impressive for those of us over the age of 12, but if you’re paying a call on Disney World with preschoolers in tow – this is a must see. The Barnstormer The ride requires you to be 35” tall at least and the best times to head over to the Barnstormer is usually early in the morning before 10:30 or during one of the parades. The ride itself lasts less than … Continue reading
