One Dozen Marriage Quotes

I don’t know why I picked one dozen for the number of quotes, maybe one for each month of the year, since it’s January. I find most of these to hold meaning, even some of the cute ones, although some are just for fun. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did. 1. I love being married. It’s so great to find that one special person you want to annoy for the rest of your life. ~Rita Rudner 2. Don’t marry the person you think you can live with; marry only the individual you think you can’t live … Continue reading

Friday Marriage Funnies: Wisdom of the Ages

My daughter is always talking about the latest boy she is going to marry and the plans that they are making. They will marry after college, but not before they are 25. They also have to be married 3 years before they can have their first baby and they must have at least three children, but no more than five. I find her viewpoints entertaining and refreshing. She is so certain in her beliefs and her convictions. When I went up to the school the other day to help out in her library hour – I found myself vastly entertained … Continue reading

The Marriage Week in Review October 21-27

This was a great week here in the Marriage blog and as always; it’s a pleasure to share the challenge of bringing you marriage news and information with Sherry. Our guest blogger this week was Catherine Ipizcade and I suggest you check out her blogs on celebrating her marriage as well as bridal shower tips. For Sherry and I, the biggest challenge came at the end of the week as the New Jersey Supreme Court handed down their decision on Same-Sex unions. While Sherry and I often come down on opposite sides of this issue, we believe in healthy and … Continue reading

Kids Say the Darnedest Things

The older I get the more it seems time flies by and my children are growing up too fast. My oldest child always did seem to be much older than his actual age. When he was around 10 years old his pet parakeet was acting weird so he picked the bird up in his hands. The bird – a white parakeet, who he had named “Rainbow” because he loved it “more than all the colors of the rainbow” – proceeded to die right in the palm of his little hand. My son was traumatized and was crying uncontrollably. No matter … Continue reading

Social Security Issues

In the military we are always writing down one social security number, the active duty one. Am I correct? Everything you ever sign needs his social, not yours, in fact I’d be surprised if you still knew yours after a few years. I’m always writing his number down for everything I do, I mean you write it down for the hospital, dental, anything done on the base…which includes all those fun contests they have. So why was it a surprise that I would ever get denied something so simple as my bank card. I knew I already had the money … Continue reading
