The Benefits of Lists

Housekeeping is about more than just the best household products and tips on how to better clean a room. Housekeeping is about keeping your house in order and what better way to do that than finding an organizational system that works for you. I am amazed at the majority of people who push their carts through grocery stores, wandering aimlessly and grabbing whatever they think they need. Rarely do I see someone with a list. Sometimes I feel a little odd, with my list and pen in hand. But at the same time I feel a sense of triumph in … Continue reading

All of this sounds great, and it is, but my inner … Continue reading

Making Time

While we are expecting the birth of our first child my wife and I are finding some rather interesting and low stress ways to spend time with one another. These are quite simple but also invaluable to our marriage and her overall sense of well-being during the final trimester in the heat of Texas! One of the things my wife and I have been bad about is treating meals as a sacrosanct family time. This was partly because she comes from a large family and finds cooking for only two a difficult task. In addition to this fact both of … Continue reading

Baby Blog Month in Review: July 2008

Two of my three children are summer babies. That is, they were born in the summer and had their first months surrounded by sunshine streaming in the windows, the sound of birds chirping, and days spent wearing nothing but a diaper and a “onsie.” I made sure that they had Fourth of July outfits ready, even though one of them arrived a week after the holiday. I guess he just wasn’t interested in the parade. Do you have a summer baby, too? We had a lot of new information to share this past month, such as recall notices and new … Continue reading

Take Time to Serve

It is important to take time on a regular basis to serve others. This can be in small ways and sometimes in larger ways. I think that one of the biggest benefits of service is that it helps you to think beyond yourself. This is especially true if you go outside of your normal comfort circle. This last year has been a tough one for me, but as I look back at the times when I had the opportunity to serve others, I have realized how happy I was during that time. Here are some areas that you may consider … Continue reading

Why am I Writing this Disney Blog?

I’m a former employee of Walt Disney World in Florida. After going through the casting process, I found a great job at Walt Disney World’s Central Reservations Office. It wasn’t nearly as glamorous as playing Cinderella in the Magic Kingdom, in fact, it was considered a “backstage” position, but it was a fantastic job nonetheless! Part of my training involved touring all of the resorts/hotels on the Disney property from basic rooms to concierge level suites, exploring the vast and amazing underground and “backstage” areas, and doing considerable “off duty” research on the Walt Disney World Parks. The off duty … Continue reading
