Do You Share a Psychic Connection with Your Spouse?

Do you know couples who finish each other's sentences or know what the other's about to say? Perhaps you do this with your own spouse.

Wayne and I do. Frequently. We especially freak each other out about food and restaurants.

For instance, say it's nearing dinner time. Maybe I'll be craving pizza, which I haven't mentioned to Wayne, and he'll say something like, "I'm getting hungry. Want to go to Pizza Hut?"

It's freaky when it happens, and for as long as I can remember we've been doing it. But that's because we've been together awhile. I don't know if we did that in the very, very beginning.

But I do know we shared a "connection" early on. One that's still working to this day. I'll give you a couple of examples.

The Rollover

The first time I experienced our connection was in 1986. It was late October, very near to Halloween. Wayne was coming home for the weekend from college and had bummed a ride with a friend.

He should have been to my house around six. But six came and went, then six-thirty, then seven. This was before cell phones so I had no way to reach him. But I believe he sent me a message anyway.

At one point I was standing at the front window watching for him. I had a very vibrant flash of a car rolling over with people inside. It was dark, there was snow on the ground, and there was a tiny embankment ending in a ditch with a fence in the background. The fence was of the variety that marks certain rural stretches in Colorado.

It was so clear in my mind it was like I was there. I was certain Wayne had been involved in a car accident. Come to find out, to some extent he had been.

He ended up getting to my house a little after 8:00, at which point he explained he was late because some friends had been in a car accident. They'd rolled their car down a snowy embankment into a ditch. Wayne and his friend had come upon them at South Park and had waited with them until help came.

I've got a more recent example, too, which I'll share in Part II.
