A Year to Remember

I don’t know where it went, but this month I’m celebrating my year anniversary being a Marriage Blogger. Confessions Last year, then managing editor, Heather Long, sent out a notice asking us bloggers if we’d be interested in either changing categories or adding on to any existing ones. I saw Marriage was one she was looking to staff. I’d guest blogged there a couple of times. I was interested in challenging myself. I asked if in addition to Pets I could also be assigned to Marriage. I alternated between jubilation and panic when her answer was, “Yes.” Okay, my wish … Continue reading

What Would Wake You Up to What’s Important?

Similar to what happened with a vision of a rollover I had semi-sort of involving Wayne, and the pain in my foot after Wayne’s surfboard accident, today I had another psychic connection moment. But this one snapped me out of a funk I’ve been in and made me realize what’s important. Yet Another Dream As you might have surmised if you’re a regular reader, I’m big into dreams. (If you’re not, or if you just want to reacquaint yourself with what I’m talking about, refer to articles like The Dream: How I Knew Wayne Was the One and Do You … Continue reading

Spouses and Psychic Connections – Part II

In Part I, I told you about the connection I share with Wayne. I wrote about a vision I’d had of a rollover while waiting for him one night, and how I later found out he had been involved in a rollover. Or at least involved with a rollover. Here’s another scenario where our connection fired up. But this time it was a physical pain, not a vision, that linked us. The Aching Toe One summer when we lived in Florida I bought Wayne a surfboard. But he met with catastrophe on his maiden voyage. He took his board out … Continue reading

Do You Share a Psychic Connection with Your Spouse?

Do you know couples who finish each other’s sentences or know what the other’s about to say? Perhaps you do this with your own spouse. Wayne and I do. Frequently. We especially freak each other out about food and restaurants. For instance, say it’s nearing dinner time. Maybe I’ll be craving pizza, which I haven’t mentioned to Wayne, and he’ll say something like, “I’m getting hungry. Want to go to Pizza Hut?” It’s freaky when it happens, and for as long as I can remember we’ve been doing it. But that’s because we’ve been together awhile. I don’t know if … Continue reading

When They Won’t Say Anything

It can be deeply frustrating to be married to someone that keeps everything to him or herself. It can be a particular sore spot if they keep a tight lid on what’s bothering them and choose only to share those things that they are happy about. When your husband or your wife isolates in this fashion, it can feel like it takes an act of Congress to get anything out of them. It can also take an emotional toll on the couple as they struggle to communicate across a vast gulf of all the things they never say. How to … Continue reading
