I never went on a blind date, although I tried (unsuccessfully, I might add) to arrange one or two. But for one couple a blind date turned out to be just the beginning. That blind date was over 50 years ago.

For Wayne and I today is more than just Valentine's Day. It's also our Proposalversary! We're celebrating Proposalversary number 14. Hard to believe it was Valentine's Day 1994 when Wayne (finally!) proposed.

When Wayne and I lived in Jacksonville we became close friends with another couple named Thais (pronounced Thai, like the country, and "eese" as in "geese") and Wladmir (his parents were Polish so his name's spelled with a W but is pronounced with a V, as in Vlad).

Yesterday Wayne and I celebrated our 12th wedding anniversary. Hard to believe that twelve years ago, in a little church in Denver, we exchanged I Dos. In some respects it feels like just yesterday, in others it seems so much longer than that. (But in a good way.

On Sunday Wayne and I will celebrate our 12th wedding anniversary. I got to wondering what kind of gift is associated with year 12. I knew year one was paper, the 25th Silver, and (thanks to Wayne's grandparents) the 50th is Gold and 60th Diamonds.
