Michelle Obama’s Fitness Secrets

No matter what your politic beliefs, few can say anything negative about First Lady Michelle Obama’s physique. Clearly she does a good job taking care of her body. So what are her secrets? Recently she divulged 11 things that help to keep her in shape. The first is that contrary to what you might think, she doesn’t count calories. Now this I can relate to. I find calorie counting to be more of a burden than anything else. She also doesn’t like to diet. Instead, she focuses on health (isn’t this what I have been saying in so many of … Continue reading

Marriage Blog, I Bid You Farewell

An adventure that began two years ago in Pets, then expanded to Marriage a little over a year ago when I first introduced myself here, has reached journey’s end. Today I’m writing to say farewell. Dale should be rejoining you all very shortly. She’s already back to posting in Christian so I imagine it won’t be long before she makes a reappearance here. You’re also going to get a new face to Marriage, but definitely not to Families.com. Mary Ann Romans is one of Families most prolific bloggers. She’s written in different categories over the years and is currently covering … Continue reading

Are Secrets Okay?

There are many relationship and marriage articles out there that discuss the importance of communication, openness, and honesty. The three of these are essential for a healthy and happy relationship. So does that mean that secrets are not allowed? Is it okay to keep a secret from your mate? I think that secrets can be acceptable. It all depends on what type of secret it is. Some will claim that no secrets are allowed. However if the secret does not directly affect your mate or your relationship then it might be acceptable to keep it to yourself. For example should … Continue reading

Who Is Your Computing Blogger?

Who is that masked woman behind the screen? It is just humble (sic) old me, so humble I forgot to introduce myself! I have been having a lot of fun here in the computing blog since the 23rd of April. Normally, you will find me over in the Frugal Living Blog or any forum that has to do with saving money. But, truth be told, I’ve been a big computer geek for many years. So, when an opportunity came up to fill in for a bit here in the Computing Blog, I just jumped at the chance. Y’see, I have … Continue reading

Secrets – What to Do With Them

As we talked about earlier, there may be valid reasons to keep a secret from your spouse, because you shouldn’t have to reveal distressing moments from the past. It may even be valid to keep a secret that belongs to someone else that is private and personal. Those types of secrets are understandable and private; they are meaningful for the people who keep them in the sense of their own privacy. Those types of secrets are also not usually the kind that hurt your spouse. Couples have a right to their own privacy, both individually and as a couple. In … Continue reading

He Loves Me Anyway

It’s been a hard last six months. Okay, it’s been a hard last two years. We’ve had ups and downs – lots of downs – and mostly centered around me and my health (and my frustration about my health). You know what’s amazing to me? My husband loves me anyway. He knows that I can’t be defined by all this stuff that’s happened. He knows that’s not really me. And he knows that if he’s patient, I will return to who I once was. That’s one of the biggest secrets in marriage, I think. We need to look past our … Continue reading

Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher to Divorce

Cougars all over the world are stunned – their shining example of what cougarhood can be has come to an end. After rumors swirled that Ashton Kutcher had cheated on wife Demi Moore, the two announced their divorce this week. The pair has almost always turned heads since they began dating in 2003, when Moore was 41-years-old and Kutcher was barely out of diapers. Okay, he was actually 25-years-old. But, Moore’s oldest daughter, Rumer is just 10 years younger than Kutcher. While not many batted an eyelash when Anthony Quinn married a women 48 years younger than him or Sammy … Continue reading

Should You Tell?

Recently while watching a TV show one of the characters admitted they had had a one night stand with someone else during a time when the husband was being distant, selfish and unresponsive. There was no plan to take the one night stand further. It was in the past but the person thought they should admit it to their husband. The result was he, understandably, chucked an absolute fit. Okay so it’s just a TV show. But often TV shows reflect life. It started a discussion between Mick and I about whether the character should have told, knowing how this … Continue reading

Are You Over-Washing Your Clothes? I Am (Sigh)

I am a serious over-washer of our clothing, sheets, even the couch cover! I’m trying to work on this, though, since it is costing me money. Not only does it bite into the budget with the cost of laundry detergent, hot water cost and electricity, but it also costs me money in terms of replacement costs for the clothing. I suppose I can probably also include the replacement costs for the washer and or dryer, assuming that more use shortens the life spans of these appliances. Why then do I do it? Well, partially it might be the way I … Continue reading

No matter how in love you are, no matter how determined you are never to fight, no matter how much he makes your heart go pitty-pat or she makes you forget how to breathe, the day will come when you have your first fight. There’s really nothing you can do to prevent it. Something will come up, you’ll have a difference of opinion, and before you know it … your blissful marriage has come to an end. True?
