Sadly too many couples seem to live almost independent of each other these days and do not put enough emphasis and value on spending time together. No matter how busy life is, I can't stress how important it is to maintain your relationship and make sure you keep a regular date night or time together without family. So here are 21 ideas, most of which won't cost the earth: 1. Cook a meal and go all out with wine candles romantic music 2. Make a picnic and\picnic just the two of you in the lounge room or the bedroom. 3. Take up a sport together, mixed netballs, touch footy, or tennis. It doesn't matter what the sport is so long as you both enjoy it. 4. Go to a production by a local theatre group. Many of them are excellent and usually inexpensive 5. Even better, join a local theater group or choir together. 6. Make a CD together. 7. Go to an art exhibition and then have a coffee and talk about the paintings you liked. 8. Listen to a sermon together and then talk about what is said. You can download sermons by people like Mark Driscoll. 9. Settle down in a comfy spot with maybe a glass of wine or port for a good long chat. 10. Join a community group together, either as a volunteer for some charity or join a community class where you will learn a new skill: art, restoring furniture, landscaping, car maintenance, Greek, cookery, or whatever takes your fancy. 11. Draw each other. If you draw as badly as I do, it might produce some hilarious results. 12. Make your own chocolate fondue and eat it together. 13. Work on a photo album or photo collage together. 14. Design and paint a mural on one wall. 15. Sign up for a short course in Latin dancing or ballroom dancing. 17. Read the same book and talk about it. Bette still read to each other. 18. Play X box, WII, table tennis or pool. 19. Take a late night drive to a secluded beach and walk along the sand hand in hand. 20. Read the Bible and pray together. 21. Cook a favorite cake together. 22. Make your own picnic and take it to the beach or a park 23. Go to a movie. Go for coffee afterwards and talk about the movie. 24. Cuddle up together with a DVD and some chocolate. 25. Being a former DJ - making a cd together is up there on my list - and its easy to do these days with technology so easy, cheap and accessible! My wife and I actually purchased dance lessons last Christmas....and forgot to use the credits. I wonder if they would still be usable?! thanks again! Stu Gray Dale Harcombe (10327) 23 Oct 2009 02:20 PMThanks Stugray. The CD one came from my married daughter. I hadn't thought of it. You could always try with the dance lessons. The worst they can say is no. Mick and I had a few before our daughter married and it was a lot of fun. Made us feel more confident at the wedding when parents got up to dance after the bride and groom.
