The Notebook: The Epitome of Devotion

I’ve been reflecting on devotion and devotion levels recently. Because the stroke seems to have enhanced my mom’s dementia, the romantic in me has also been reminded of the movie The Notebook. If you have not seen this movie, in one of her blogs Christian Blogger Dale Harcombe summed it up best: “Caution – don’t attempt to watch this movie unless you have a full box of tissues handy.” Where the storyline is the epitome of devotion, the movie is the epitome of a tearjerker for sure. Beware the Stereotype

According to the experts men are notoriously bad about going to the doctors. Even as I write this, I am aware it is a generalization and therefore suspect. A doctor I heard about recently has tried to combat the problem by introducing a man friendly waiting room. He’s thrown out all the women’s magazines and replaced them with fishing and motoring magazines. He always has the TV tuned into the Sports channel. Two Love Stories

Last Friday Mick took me to the movies. We saw ‘Nights in Rodanthe.’ I’m a big fan of Nicholas Sparks and read the book some time back, so as soon as I saw the movie on I wanted to go. Mick had been through two previous films from books by Nicholas Sparks. ‘The Notebook’ was the first which he thought was a beautiful though sad story and well acted. I don’t know where it went, but this month I’m celebrating my year anniversary being a Marriage Blogger.
